This time of the year it is not uncommon for micro breweries to brew seasonal Christmas beers. In fact, these specialty beers are not only restricted to this time of the year, October months sees the release of the much loved pumpkin ale and Octoberfest beers.
Darling Brew, the Western Cape based micro brewery that produces four different craft beer, has today announced that this year they will also be brewing a seasonal beer.
In addition to Darling Brew’s usual Slow Beer, Native Ale, Black Mist and Bone Crusher beers the local craft brewery are in the process of brewing 4000 liters of what it calls a Limited Edition Darling Christmas Brew. It is still unknown as to what kind of beer it will be but by the sound of it we might be in for a treat, like the name suggest it will be a Christmas brew, so perhaps something with some nice spicy hops combined with cinnamon, coriander and nutmeg.
Personally I can’t wait to get my hands on a bottle of this Christmas brew, hopefully it will be bottled and available through their normal outlets, otherwise I think a trip to the Darling Brew slow quarter is in order where they should have it on tap when brewing is complete.
